I became involved with YUMI in its very early days, when I met Sasiki Hubbertsey the founder in 2004, and did a Mongolian food stall at YUMI’s first multicultural food fair. Between 2006 and 2013 I was travelling a lot before settling back in York, but I always stayed in touch with YUMI so it was easy to get involved again.

I’m from Mongolia, and  I came to the UK with my husband who is British. Our daughter was born here. Although I trained as a lawyer in my country, my real passions are writing and textiles. Being part of YUMI has definitely helped me settle in and enjoy life in York and I’ve made some lasting friendships through being involved. The latest thing is Yumi’s Craft Group – so please come, enjoy learning something new, and meet new friends
